PTSD AWARENESS MONTH!
By now, most people have heard of the term PTSD, but it is very difficult for those who are not suffering from a previous crisis to understand the serious nature of PTSD, or Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. PTSD can be best described as a disorder impacting a person who has previously endured or witnessed a life threatening or life changing event. These events can range from sexual, verbal and physical abuse to experiencing violence or trauma as a result of serving your country in the military. Many sufferers of this disorder are constantly living a life of pain and distress, because they are not able to forget about the traumatic event(s) that happened in their life. As a result, PTSD can become overbearing and some relive the incidents everyday of their lives. This type of behavior is never a positive aspect for the individual, because it can hold a heavy burden on the person's relationships and general overall happiness.
