A RARE SKIN EATING BACTERIA "Necrotizing Fasciitis" SKIN DISORDERS!

Necrotizing Fasciitis is a severe form of flesh eating bacteria. This bacterial infection is able to destroy the muscles, skin, and other tissues that are within the human body. The end result of being affected with "Necrotizing Fascitiitis" is body tissue that dies. The cause of this infection can be a combination of several different bacterial infections such as Streptococcus pyogenes. This bacteria can actually enter the body through something as small as a tiny scratch, or bug bite,  creating and releasing toxins that affect any blood flow to the affected area. After this bacteria has entered the body and killed valuable tissues, it will then spread rapidly throughout the body through blood. Generally within a day, the symptoms will occur and skin may appear blue or purple. There are several symptoms that are associated with this particular bacterial infection which include the following:

  • Tingling may occur along with a fever and chills
  • Nausea, vomiting, fatigue and other flu like symptoms
  • Later symptoms include signs of shock, dizziness and faintness
  • Gangrene in portions of the body that has been affected by tissue loss

The unique thing about Necrotizing Fasciitis is that there is no known prevention. This flesh eating bacteria occurs spontaneously through an opening of the skin. The biggest thing that an individual can do to lower their changes of developing this flesh eating bacteria is to make sure that their bruises are not exposed outwardly for these types of bacteria to enter into the body. Wash even the smallest cuts and bruises. Finally, if you believe that you have been affected by Strep Throat or infection, be mindful of the people that you are around and try not to spread this bacteria. An individual must recognize that even though they may never experience the the symptoms, they may still be a carrier.

If you feel that you may have come in contact with this flesh eating bacteria, contact your doctor as soon as possible. This particular type of infection can spread quickly so time is of the essence. If your doctor determines that you have been infected with Necrotizing Fascittis, there are several treatment options that your doctor may recommend which include surgery, medicines, treating the shock complications and Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy.
