INTERNATIONAL HUMAN RIGHTS DAY?? Dec. 10th!

Celebrate with us for International Human Rights Day! Today is the day to recognize that every man, woman and child has the right to be treated equally and have a voice in their country. International Human Rights Day is an awareness day to help people recognize that their voice counts. Many times people who are poor, disabled or in minority groups do not get the opportunity to be heard on national issues. Regardless of how you classify yourself, everyone has a right to take place in political issues. This is often not communicated out well enough. Most people who live alternative lifestyles are mistreated and ignored. This practice is not right! If you have ever felt like you could not speak out about things because of your background or your current situation, that is NOT TRUE! Everyone has a voice and although we may not agree with one another, that does not give anyone the right to suppress each other's thoughts. This day is more than just  people expressing their thoughts, but also  being able to participate in essential issues and make a difference. It is not unheard of that in many situations the government makes decisions without the opinions and thoughts from the people. This is not the way it was meant to be and it is time for a change.  Make your voice count by taking part in Google plus hangouts between November 22nd and December 10th to interact with senior UN officials and other experts on "the rights of minorities, persons with disabilities, the impact of business on human rights and beyond (Human Rights, 2012)." Although this is a perfect time to become more involved, please remember to remain respectful of other people and to treat others the way you would like to be treated. Often times speaking our thoughts can lead to corruption and hatred if it is not done in a respectful and loving way.

"So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets
 (Matthew 7:12)."

Speak your mind today and everyday! Regardless of who you are, there is power in your words! Use them wisely!

"Everyone is entitled to the rights and freedoms set forth in this Declaration without distinction of any kind such as race, color, sex, language, religion, political or other opinion, national or social origin, property, birth or other status. Furthermore, no distinction shall be made on the basis of the political, jurisdictional or international status of the country or territory to which a person belongs, whether it be independent, trust, non-self-governing or under any other limitation or sovereignty. The Universal Declaration of Human Rights Article 2)."

"The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat it's fruit (Proverbs 18:21)."
