INTERNATIONAL DAY FOR THE ABOLITION OF SLAVERY!


The International Day for the Abolition of Slavery is being recognized on December 2nd. This awareness day was created to educate many people about slavery that still exists today in forms of trafficking, child marriage, and using innocent children for armed protection. Many people are under the false impression that these issues were a thing of the past. They believe that slavery stopped years ago, however, this remains not true in many countries, including America. Human Trafficking is a major issue all over the world. This is a form of child (or adult) recruitment by force in order to use them for sexual exploitation. While child brides are the number one cause of death for females between the ages of 15-17 years old. It is estimated that 21 million people are currently being held captive into a horrifying lifestyle.
