ALCOHOL AWARENESS MONTH!

April is Alcohol Awareness Month! Since 1987, the National Council on Alcohol and Drug Dependence (NCADD) has been trying to increase awareness about alcohol and how dangerous it can be if it is abused. This type of abuse is known as alcoholism and does not only affect the person who is suffering from the disease, but also the family members and loved ones that are around an alcoholic. Alcoholism is considered a chronic disease that may become fatal if left untreated.  The NCADD also aims to get more families involved in getting the help they may need for alcohol related problems. They also want everyone to know that if you are currently in a situation dealing with alcoholism or living with a relative/friend that has been affected by this disease, that there is hope. This year marks the 27th Anniversary of Alcohol Awareness Month.  "Help for Today. Hope For Tomorrow"
