Health in the Cracks:  How to Build Better Habits Without Burning Out You’ve probably seen the glossy to-do lists, the bullet journals adorned with pastel  highlighters, the 5 a.m. wake-ups that come with a smug caption. ANIMAL ABUSE AND WHAT IT SAYS ABOUT A PERSON.

Animal abuse is a big deal in our society and since they are unable to communicate verbally what someone did to them, we have to learn some of the visible signs that our or someone else's pets may be a victim of abuse. According to the ASPCA, here are a few signs of animal abuse:

PHYSICAL SIGNS:

  • An animal with an extremely tight collar.
  • They have open wounds, healing wounds or wounds that have not been treated.
  • Look starved. Bones may be showing.
  • Animal has fleas, ticks and other bugs on them at an astronomical rate.
  • Look dirty.
  • Discharge coming from eyes or nose.
  • Animal looks dirty and exhausted often.

ENVIRONMENTAL SIGNS:
  • Tied up pets outside with no food or water.
  • Dog left in extreme weather conditions often.
  • An animal that is left in unsanitary conditions.
  • A person who keeps their animals in a cage with no space

If you see any of these conditions multiple times, it is imperative to  report this type of abuse immediately

"For what happens to the children of man and what happens to the beasts is the same; as one dies, so dies the other. They all have the same breath, and man has no advantage over the beasts, for all is vanity
 (Ecclesiastes 3:19)."
