WOMEN'S HEALTH, ANNUAL CHECK-UP NEEDED!

Many women fail to acknowledge the importance of having an annual checkup by their doctor. If you are a female 18 and older, it is imperative that you visit your doctor ( gynecologist ) to run routine tests. Having an annual checkup decreases the risk of diseases. If there is something that is out of the ordinary then it can potentially be discovered at an early stage when visiting your doctor. Early prevention is the key to staying happy and healthy. Insurance companies are now starting to cover female annual checkups. Always check with your insurance to verify what your insurance will cover. It is ALWAYS a good plan to have insurance coverage. Paying out of pocket can be expensive. Families will often go without insurance because they want to cut down on their monthly payment, but what they fail to acknowledge is that WHEN an emergency happens, the medical expenses are FAR greater then the monthly fee that would be initially taken out of your paycheck. WHAT TO EXPECT DURING A CHECK-UP?

These tests may sound like a lot, but generally the tests are done quite quickly and you are done for the year. Be sure to make a list of any questions or concerns that you may have PRIOR to seeing your doctor. It is highly important that females learn to ask questions. It could save your life or the life of someone you love. Although you will be required to fill out paperwork, tell your doctor if you have a family history of diabetes, breast cancer, mental illness or anything that could possibly be genetically hazardous to your health. If you are reading this and you are under 18 and sexually active, it is also time for you to start seeing a family or personal doctor.
