FRECKLED BEAUTIES! SKIN CARE TIPS!

Many people do not understand what freckles are. While no one can be completely certain as to why we have certain genetic dispositions, freckles are generally very harmless. However, it is very common for people to mistake freckles for skin cancer, vice versa. This is NOT true. Freckles are characterized as tan or light brown spots on sun-exposed skin. Depending on the complexion of the person, freckles can appear in various colors such reddish, yellow, tan, light brown, brown, or black. The spots are actually due to an increase in melanin on the skin.

Sun exposure can make these spots appear darker. They are generally  found in various places on the body and more common in people with fair complexion. Although freckles are more common amongst individuals with fair skin, there are MANY people of different ethnicities that have freckles (i.e. blacks, African Americans, Asians..etc.). Although freckles are harmless, if you feel that it could be something more serious, it is always a great idea to get a skin check from your local dermatologist. He or she should be able to instantaneously tell you whether it is something to be medically concerned with.

Regardless, it is always recommended that you become familiar with marks, freckles and moles on your skin. This will prevent any possible chances of welcoming unwanted diseases or marks.

DIFFERENCE BETWEEN
FRECKLES & MOLDS!

WAYS TO REDUCE THE
APPEARANCE OF FRECKLES...

1. Use a bleaching cream agent to put on the affected area. Make sure the bleaching cream contains the active ingredient  hydroquinone  (over 2%). While you are using this product, make sure that you avoid the sun as much as possible. This active ingredient can actually make your freckles worse if you start using it and become exposed to a lot of sun light. Also, make sure you read the warnings of hydroquinone, since this particular substance has the  potential to harm your skin if it is not used correctly.

2. Try using a Retinoid cream. Generally these types of creams are used for getting rid of unwanted acne marks, clearing the skin, and is also considered the only proven anti-aging method that actually works. Retinoid can come in several different generic forms from your dermatologist, which include tretinoin, tazarotene and adapalene. Find your local skin care doctor to find out which one is best for you!

3. Laser treatments  can help minimize the appearance of unwanted freckles. Through several treatments, a laser is used to zap or lighten dark pigmentation. This procedure should be a very simple procedure.

4.  Chemical peels

5. Doctors can  light freeze with liquid nitrogen. This procedure has a tendency to reduce the appearance, but not all spots respond to the freezing or burning. This procedure is known as  Cryosurgery.

6. Intense Pulsed Light treatments are another method to lighten and remove freckles.

TIPS ON IMPROVING
YOUR COMPLEXION!
 "FRECKLES"

Again, speak to your local dermatologist before you make any of these decisions. Learn about the benefits of any skin procedure or medication that you use prior to beginning the treatments. Appearance wise, freckles are not considered a character flaw. Generally the person who has freckles, see them as a bigger problem then people who do not. From a beauty standpoint, freckles are actually a sign of youth and beauty. If you are willing to embrace your freckles then it is a great idea to wear make-up that allows you to reveal your freckles, while at the same time having clear skin. Whatever decision you choose, remember that it should be YOUR personal decision. Never feel obligated to change something about yourself because of what other people say or do. In the end, feel comfortable with your skin and remember that sometimes imperfections are a physical sign of pure beauty:
