Response to ABC News/Good Morning America! Britain's Most Beautiful Face!
Britain's Most Beautiful Face Reveals Beauty Secrets?
(The new update! Read this entire article to
find out the newest most beautiful person!)
Earlier this year, ABC news reported Britain's most beautiful woman. Her name is Florence Colgate. She is an 18 year old who landed a spot on Good morning America because everything about her was deemed to be "perfect" and beautiful. According to the votes, this young lady is symmetrically without flaw. London ran a competition in search of the world's most beautiful girl and this gorgeous young lady won. For those of you who are not similar with this story, please feel free to watch the following clip, before you continue.
At this point, you have probably just seen Britain's, and (apparently America's, since it is featured on Good morning America) most beautiful girl in the world. It was only a few months back that People magazine reported the lovely Beyonce of being the most beautiful woman in the world, and prior to her, Jennifer Lopez.
Is this information accurate?
Could their possibly
be only ONE
standard of beauty?
Beauty(dictionary online)
1. A combination of qualities, such as shape, color, or form, that pleases the aesthetic senses, esp. the sight.
2. A combination of qualities that pleases the intellect or moral sense
Biased
1. Show prejudice for or against (someone or something) unfairly: "the tests were biased against women"; "a biased view of the world".
2. Influence unfairly to invoke favoritism: "her story failed to bias the jury".
"But the LORD said to Samuel,
"Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him.
The LORD does not look
at the things man looks at.
Man looks at the outward appearance,
but the LORD looks at the heart
(1 Samuel 16:7)."
According to several reputable news sources, the answer is yes. There is only ONE beautiful type of woman. Is beauty really in the "eye of the beholder?" Or did God (or a higher power) make a mistake. Because if the news sources that we are taking as facts are correct, then it does not coincide or reflect the truth from both a spiritual standpoint and reality.
So God created man in his own image,
in the image of God he created him;
male
and female he created them
(Genesis 1:27).
Everyday, society has double standards. One second, they are telling every woman that she is beautiful, the next, the compliment is quickly taken away when they choose to grace the public magazines with a standard for beauty. This can be confusing for any person. Unfortunately, whether people realize it or not, this entire study is biased. The young lady Florence Colgate is absolutely stunning, and no one can deny that, however, if a person can briefly reflect upon the initial definition of "beauty" they will see that "perfect" was not included. At least not in the average dictionary. There was only one version that concluded that we were all perfect, and that source did not just point out ONE person. In fact, since we were all created in the image of "perfection" could that mean that "each" of us have beautiful qualities? Could it also suggest that who you are is a much greater determinate of beauty than what you look like. Furthermore, is it really fair to compare?
Especially an 18 year old with a 30 year old?
Beyonce is 30, Florence is 18
SIDE NOTE: Comparison in general is wrong, but if you are going to make this choice, use people who are in the same age range. Beauty is not only cross cultural, but, it is different among age groups.
Each one should test his own actions.
Then he can take pride in himself,
without comparing himself
to somebody else
(Galatians 6:4)."
Beyonce at 18
Both are "stunning" beauties, but it is very difficult not to notice that Beyonce, a black female, is portrayed with blond hair and featured in a very similar way to the National standard of beauty on her website.
TODAY'S young adults are opting to choose surgery, to stop public humiliation. They have been trained to believe that fixing the outside, will improve "who they are."
Whether or not surgery stops bullying, is not the real point that this entire article is about. The "harsh" reality is that we are destroying the lives of many women, by setting expectations that are not realistic. No one is perfect. At least not in the eyes of each other. Despite what the newspapers say, YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL! It does not matter your nationality, YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL!
Never compare yourself with another individual in "any" aspect of life. This will only strike up self-hatred and created unnecessary jealousy issues throughout life. Regardless of how other people treat you, find the beauty that is inside of YOU! It is not until you discover who you are as a person that you will start to shine as a beautiful woman, both inside and OUT!
"Do nothing from rivalry or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others (Philippians 2:3-4)."
And for the people who are participating in making beautiful young and old women feel "inferior" because they do not have the perfect symmetries, I forgot when the last time you created man.
In regards to wearing "no make-up" this appears to also be a huge fallacy brought upon by the media. There are many beautiful women who exist that do not wear make-up. Unfortunately, they are rarely previewed. Most of the pictures that are posted that reveal celebrities or people without make-up are false! They are still wearing make-up AND let's not forget the wonderful use of photoshop.
There is nothing wrong with wearing make-up or choosing not too. These women below are beautiful....
SIDE NOTE: Celebrities were used in this example because people are more exposed to who they are! Feel free to google extra images!
Selena Gomez Born: July 22, 1992 Actress and singer
*****5 STARS
THEY ARE ALL BEAUTIFUL, WITH AND WITHOUT MAKE-UP...
BUT, THEY ARE NOT THE ONLY "Natural" BEAUTIES.It appears that the study that was previously done, did not take into account women of different ethnicity's....
They also forgot the most innocent victims of this story. The "little" girls who grow up never understanding the true beauty they possess. Many young girls will never be beautiful because of what society has chosen to define beauty.
Authors Note: This was not written to object to the gorgeous young lady that initially was featured as beautiful, but just to let other women and children know that there is not only more to beauty that meets the eye, but just because you will never have blond hair and blue eyes, does not mean you are less of a person. I apologize for anyone who has led you to believe ANY different. My only regret about writing this, is that I could not include more...
The media is full of biased views, (Whether you believe in God, the table, or nothing) many are FALSE! If you are dealing with self-esteem issues, NEVER LET SOCIETY DEFINE WHO YOU ARE....
